HOW TO GET THAT NEW CAR SMELL TO LAST

Everyone loves the smell of a new car, but it never seems to last. The problem with a new car smell is that you’ll only smell it in a car that’s, well, new. It goes away after a few months of drive-through meals, hauling passengers, coffee spills, and all the other things that can affect a vehicle’s smell. And yet, there are things that you can that can preserve the coveted new car smell or at least make your car smell almost like new again.
Would Cleaning Out Your Car Make a Difference?
The most important thing you can do to get your car smelling like new again is to clean it out. Choose a warm day, open your car doors, and throw out any garbage that you have lying around in your car. Next, take some Armor-All car wipes or something similar and wipe down the dashboard, steering wheel, and any other surface that you may have touched that you can wipe down. You should then clean off the insides of your windows and windshield, but not with the Armor-All wipes; that will only leave streaks in your glass.
Your car should be smelling almost like new again if you’ve cleaned it out thoroughly. If you really want to recreate the new car smell that you remember when you bought your car, you can also buy a new car smell air freshener. These are inexpensive and available pretty much wherever automotive supplies are sold.
Don’t Leave Windows Open
If your car is still new enough to have a new car smell, you can preserve it by keeping your doors and windows shut as often as possible. This not only traps the smell within the car, but the higher temperature will preserve the smell a bit longer. This also means that you should avoid having your windows open for long on a cold day, but you probably wouldn’t want to have all of your windows down in the middle of the winter anyway.
Preserving a new car smell can be a challenge, and there will be a limit to how long it will last no matter what you do, but it’s good to know that you can preserve it for at least a little while.
