INFINITI GOES DARK WITH NEW PROJECT BLACK S

November 28, 2017
INFINITI’s latest high-performance model has made its official debut at the Geneva International Motor Show this year, showcasing a masterful new concept that the automaker designed with the renowned sport car experts at Renault Sport Formula One.
Called Project Black S, this new INFINITI performance grade offers a more aerodynamic design, as well as a performance hybrid powertrain and other performance-focused features that “result [in] instant, significant, lag-free acceleration,” according to a recent press release.
The concept could be the blueprint for a new “Black S” trim grade from the automaker, which will bring top-notch performance features to INFINITI’s lineup, such as a unique design aesthetic, higher-octane powertrains with increased torque and even new performance-oriented suspension systems.
A Q60 Black S?
The automaker believes that their popular Q60 sport coupe would be the best model to engage with Project Black S at these early stages, offering an “ideal platform” for the concept’s performance hybrid engine, as well as its other features like the new high-performance titanium twin exhaust system, wider performance tires and lightweight 21-inch alloy wheels.

CAR BUYING TIPS FOR SENIORS IN THE PHOENIX AREA

November 28, 2017
Seniors looking to buy or lease a new car in the Phoenix area have a unique set of needs and wants when it comes to their next automobile. According to a recent Cars.com survey, these main concerns include comfort, accessibility, safety and technology.
Below, we’ve put together a few tips on what senior drivers should look for when buying their next new car, so that you’re prepared when you decide to head over to our INFINITI dealership in Scottsdale. Check them out now!
Tip #1: Look for a car with a five-star safety rating.
When starting your search, be sure to narrow your choices down to vehicles with five-star safety ratings from reputable agencies, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (Highest Rating: Five Stars) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (Highest Rating: Good).
On top of that, drivers should also consider the safety of a car’s body style, with many seniors finding large SUVs uncomfortable to get in and out of, especially if they suffer from joint or hip pain.
Tip #2: Look for intuitive technology.
No matter your age, the new technology in today’s cars can either be a blessing or a curse, so be sure to take an extra test drive to decide if the car’s interior tech is something you can live with. Convenience features like Bluetooth connectivity and voice controls have proved very popular with drivers, so ask your salesperson about the available technology to see which model is right for you.
Tip #3: Look for easy accessibility.
According to Cars.com, some of the more unique requirements for senior drivers include the need for adjustable seats and pedals, as well as things like extendable sunshades and larger dash controls. Larger trunks and backseats to accommodate assistance devices, such as wheelchairs, may also be necessary, so don’t forget to research these things before making your final decision.

The 2017 North American Auto Show saw a lot of fantastic new concepts and models, including INFINITI’s new vision for their next-gen midsize crossover: the QX50 Concept.
Using the automaker’s new “Powerful Elegance” design that debuted on the QX Sport Inspiration Concept last year, the new QX50 Concept utilizes a “cabin-forward” silhouette design that showcases graceful curves, as well as powerful lines.
“With the unveiling of the QX Sport Inspiration at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show, we showed the future of INFINITI QX models. The new QX50 Concept evolves this concept further and shows how INFINITI could develop its future presence in what is the fastest-growing vehicle segment globally,” said Roland Krueger, President of INFINITI.
A Unification of Interior & Exterior Design
One of the core principles behind the new concept is the integration of the car’s cabin and its exterior by having the car’s interior flow more seamlessly with the exterior’s design shape. On top of that, the concept also employs autonomous driving technology that INFINITI hopes to adopt into their lineup in the coming years.
According to a recent press release, “The INFINITI QX50 Concept’s driver assist system is part of the company’s development of autonomous driving support technologies. The development strategy for all future INFINITI autonomous drive support systems is that they should ensure the driver retains control over their vehicle – in keeping with INFINITI’s focus on driver engagement.”

SUN GLARE: TIPS FOR DRIVING WHEN THE SUN IS BLINDING

November 22, 2017
Everyone knows that driving in heavy snow or rain can be hazardous, but few realize the number of accidents caused by blinding sun glare. Thousands of drivers encounter it every day when driving to or from work while headed in the direction of the sun. So what can you do to enhance your visibility and safety when dealing with “veiling glare”? Check out these recommended tips!
When driving, sun blindness can occur just about any day of the year here in Arizona, so make sure you’re prepared by following these guidelines:
Don’t use vinyl cleaner on your dashboard. It may give the dash an attractive high-gloss look, but it will also amplify glare, causing the dash to reflect more in your windshield.
Get sunglasses with polarized lenses. A typical set of sunglasses will cause you to squint and strain your eyes, but with polarized lenses you can finally say goodbye to lens glare. Also, if you wear prescription glasses, consider investing in anti-glare lenses.
Clean the INSIDE and outside of your windshield. Glare on windshields is magnified by the presence of dirt and dust, which scatters light rays all around, causing more glare than you’d encounter with a clean glass surface.
If you have a sunroof or convertible, wear a ball cap or a hat with a large brim. This will protect your eyes from sunlight that’s beaming down above your head. Darker colored hats are best, as lighter ones can potentially reflect light back toward your eyes.
When purchasing a car, consider one with a dark-colored dashboard and interior if you want your cabin to reflect less in the windshield.
Use your sun visor to try and block out the brightest area of light. Just ensure that you keep an eye on traffic lights, which can sometimes be blocked depending on the angle of the visor.
Change your route to drive on more roads that aren’t sun-facing. Otherwise, if you can’t go in any other direction, keep a decent amount of space between you and the cars ahead.
If it gets really bright for a moment, try to keep an eye on the street road markers right in front of your car.
